Initial Teacher Training In Our Area
South Central Teaching School Hub work in partnership with a range of different organisations across Dorset who offer initial teacher training so that you can gain Qualified Teacher Status(QTS). To learn more about their training offer, simply click on the logos below.
Our partnership, which is led by Twynham Learning, provides School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (BBTTP) in all major secondary curriculum subjects.
At the CLN we run a Primary School Direct Initial Teacher Training Programme in conjunction with The Learning Institute.
Our School Direct partnership is with the Poole SCITT . We offer a PGCE in General Primary with SEND. We also work with a range of other local University and SCITT providers to augment their programmes with school based SEND experiences.
Poole SCITT is an established Initial Teacher Education provider, working in partnership with local schools to recruit and train primary class teachers of the highest calibre to work in schools across the locality and beyond.
School Direct is led by schools working in close partnership with initial teacher education providers. Here at Queen Elizabeth’s School we have excellent and established links with the University of Exeter.
The taught programme is designed and led by outstanding school practitioners, giving trainee teachers practical training and advice, combined with classroom experience in primary and special schools across Dorset.
At the Wessex Schools Training Partnership, we pride ourselves on offering the most up to date, engaging and supportive programme of learning. With a cohort size of around 25, we are able to offer one to one support for every trainee teacher.
We are a lead centre for School Direct teacher training through Winchester University, and we have a long history of working with Exeter University in providing placements for their PGCE trainees. We work extensively with other local providers to support teacher training through all routes.
