About us
Welcome to our website. South Central Teaching School Hub (part of The Delta Education Trust) has been designated by the Department for Education (DfE) to be the Teaching School Hub for schools across BCP and Dorset.
The role of Teaching School Hubs is to provide high-quality professional development to teachers at all stages of their careers. Our Hub is a collaboration of many of the former Teaching Schools in our area plus other key partners who, working in partnership, will be delivering the following DfE priorities:
- The Early Career Framework (ECF)
- National Professional Qualifications (NPQs)
- Appropriate Body services for ECTs Statutory Accreditation
- School-based Initial Teacher Training (ITT)
- Additional high-quality evidence-based Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to school staff
We are looking forward to working with you

The Early Career Framework (ECF)
Our two year programme components draw on multiple pedagogies of teacher education to effectively develop teachers as skilled professionals. Learning activities are targeted to the developmental needs of the Early Career Teacher (ECT) and the nature of content in each module. Our programme also prepares Mentors for their role through targeted training to develop the highly skilled practice of mentoring.

Appropriate Body Services
Our Appropriate Body Services is part of the Early Careers Framework. The Service provides Statutory Accreditation for every Early Career Teacher signed up to the Full Induction Programme to ensure they receive full support, guidance and assessment throughout their 2 year induction.

National Professional Qualifications (NPQs)
We, South Central Teaching School Hub, are thrilled to be able to offer a range of newly reformed National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) in conjunction with our Delivery Partners; University College London Institute of Education (UCL IOE) or the Church of England (CofE). These NPQs will allow staff to gain qualifications in Teacher Development through to Headship and Executive Headship.

Additional Continuing Professional Development
The Regional Education Partnership Board for Dorset, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole has identified a number of priorities for CPD for the next academic year. This Additional CPD will either come directly from us or by signposting you to CPD from our wider strategic partners. We are describing these as ‘additional CPD’ as it is in addition to the DfE Golden Thread of Initial Teacher Training, Early Career Framework and National Professional Qualifications.
